Obituary for Patrick "Pat" Cooper
Patrick was born on February 9, 1960 in Colquitt, Ga. to Odell Cooper Sr. and Vivian Cooper. He had three brothers and one sister. Melanie Williams (Melvin), Odell Cooper Jr. (Martina), Kenneth Cooper (Lynn) and preceded in death his oldest brother, the late Willie Cooper (Cherry). He graduated from Miller County High School in 1978, there he played his favorite sport, football, for a number of years. As a teenager, Patrick began his career at Farmers Fertilizer (Birdsong Peanut Company) in Colquitt, when due to illness, forced him to an early retirement. He was a resident of Miller County Nursing Home. Patrick was a faithful member of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses. He is preceded in death to a loving supportive wife of 24 years, the late Juanita Cooper. With this bond of union, two children were born, Nickolas Cooper (Makesha) and Nicole Cooper Perkins (Garnie), both of Colquitt. After the death of Juanita, Patrick later married Vicki Edwards Cooper of Bainbridge. With this marriage, two sons were born, Karrington Cooper and Cameron Cooper, mother in-law Barbara Edwards. Patrick leaves behind four grandchildren whom he cared for deeply: Makayla Cooper, Tiarah Cooper, Tamia Perkins, and one grandson Jaydon Cooper. He also leaves behind some close in-laws and relatives: Lisa Gilbert, Barnard Mackey (Chechena), Brenda Carter, Jerry Carter (Van), all of Bainbridge, Marie Collier (Atlanta), Trenace Byrd (Atlanta), Dale Hightower (Columbus). Preceded him in death, two sister in-laws: Waver Fountain and Deloise Higgins and Mother in-law Ruby Gilbert.
