Obituary for Rev. Daniel J. Smith
Reverend Dr. Daniel Jerome “DOC” Smith was born on June 22, 1958 in Bainbridge, Georgia. He was the son of Rosa Lee Redding and the late Wallace Smith. He was a devoted Christian and dedicated his life to God and helping others. He proudly served our country in the United States Army for 11 years as a combat medic before being medically retired and moving back to Bainbridge, GA. He received his Doctorate in Theology from the Southwest Bible Institution. He was recognized in 1992 as being one of the most outstanding young men in America and served on the board for the committee until his death. He retired from the State of Georgia where he worked as a psychology instructor for the Bainbridge and Southwestern State Hospital. He leaves to cherish his memories his Mother: Rosa Lee Redding; Wife: Latasa Smith; Three sons: Daniel Jerome Smith II, Diante Smith and Eldrick Harrison Jr.; Two Daughters: Francoise Smith and Eldricia Harrison; Grandkids: Adriana Smith, Larenz, Limari, Latayvian Beak, Mason Johnson, Cason Harrison, and Malaya Wright. Brothers and Sisters: Gwen, Patrick, Jessie, Frank, Willie, Carleen, Mike and Walter. He also leaves behind a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and other relatives and friends.
