Rhonda was born on September 19, 1968. She was born to the late Willie Perkins and Betty Graves. She accepted Christ at an early age and was later baptized at Williams chapel in her early years. In 1999 she re-dictated her life to Christ and became a member of Mt. Pleasant Missionary Baptist Church in Orlando Florida. Rhonda continued her relationship with God and later became an honorary member of Divine Faith in Jonesboro Georgia.
She graduated from Tampa Bay Technical High School in Tampa Florida in 1986. She went on to study Early Childhood Education at Albany State University and graduated from Georgia Southwestern State University in Americus Georgia. Her unconditional love for teaching led her to earn a master’s degree at Troy State University.
Rhonda was outgoing and full of life. She taught grades Kindergarten through fourth grade in Florida and Georgia before retiring from Joseph H. Huie Elementary in Forest Park. She also worked for Delta Airlines for close to nine years. She loved to teach, travel with her daughter, read, listen to music and dance. She was a big fan of trivia and game shows.
She leaves behind one daughter, Ellen Perkins, whom she bore with Michael Clark; her mother Betty Graves; five sisters: Bridget Perkins, Simaria “Nikki” Butler, Kimberly Henderson, Crystal Jackson, and Kristina Henderson; four brothers: James Thompson, Calvin Butler, Michael Henderson and Joshua Perkins; One Aunt: Betty Sutton(Paul Sutton); One God Daughter: Lia Williams; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
