Obituary: Reflections of a Wonderful Life
Rochelle Eady Thomas
Sunrise: December 23, 1954 – Sunset: May 17, 2025
Rochelle Eady Thomas, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, true friend, and faithful servant of
God, passed away peacefully in her home—the way she always desired—on Saturday, May 17, 2025.
Born on December 23, 1954, in Savannah, Georgia, Rochelle was the cherished daughter of the late
Roosevelt and Mildred Eady. She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Roosevelt Eady
Jr., leaving behind a legacy rooted in faith, strength, and love.
Rochelle was united in marriage to Minister Lawrence B. Thomas on June 11, 1971—a lifelong
partnership marked by deep devotion and unwavering support. Together, they raised two daughters: Dr.
Lauren Rochelle Thomas of Orlando, Florida, and Stephanie Denise Hunter of McDonough, Georgia, who
were the pride and joy of her life.
She was a proud grandmother to Noelle Rochelle Hunter and Davon Lawrence Hunter, whom she loved
deeply. Her grandchildren brought her immense joy, and her love for them was constant and
unconditional.
She also leaves behind her cherished son-in-law, David Hunter II; her devoted sister, Inez Eady of
Savannah, Georgia; and a host of loving nieces, nephews, and cousins who will miss her dearly.
Rochelle had a spirit that was truly unmatched—full of light, strength, and grace. Her personality and
heart were entirely her own: bold, compassionate, wise, and unwavering. She left an imprint on every
soul she encountered, and her impact on this world and her community can never be fully measured.
A woman of remarkable integrity, Rochelle lived her life as a true and faithful servant of God. She stood
firmly on His Word and promises, living out her faith with authenticity and courage. Her prayers were a
covering for her family, and her wisdom was a steady anchor for those blessed to know her.
She had an extraordinary sense of humor and wit, always ready with a sharp observation or a heartfelt
laugh. She never shied away from the truth or difficult conversations, offering clarity and compassion in
equal measure.
She found joy in the beauty of life’s details—whether decorating a space with care, crafting something
meaningful by hand, or savoring a delicious meal. Every moment she spent with family was a treasure,
and every prayer she lifted was filled with love.
Her presence will be deeply missed, but her legacy, her faith, and her love will continue to live on in all
those she touched.
“Being confident of this very thing, that He who has begun a good work in you
will complete it until the day of Jesus Christ.” — Philippians 1:6
