Sallie Mae Cunningham Broughton Beasley
With hearts full of love and cherished memories, we celebrate the beautiful life of Sallie Mae Cunningham Broughton Beasley, who graced this world on September 10, 1945, in Climax, Georgia. She was the beloved daughter of the late Bernice Cunningham and Charlie Broughton and was raised with strong values that she carried throughout her life.
Sallle attended school in Bainbridge, Georgia, and found faith early on as a devoted member of Dry Springs Church. She later moved to Fort Lauderdale, Florida, where she worked at Pantry Pride. It was there that she met and married Willie Lewis Beasley Sr, and together they built a life filled with love and faith. She became a dedicated member of Bibleway Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of the late Reverend T.N. Tucker.
Eventually, Sallie returned to her hometown of Climax, where she renewed her membership at Dry Springs Church under the guidance of Pastor Marie Jones. Her faith remained a guiding light in her life, shaping the kindness and warmth she shared with everyone she met
On January 31, 2025, Sallie peacefully transitioned into eternal rest, joining her loved ones who preceded her in passing: her brother Sam Scott, and her sisters Charlie Mae, Lynette, and Marie
She leaves behind a legacy of love, strength, and unwavering faith, cherished by her beloved children: Gaylor, Yvette, Craig, and Willie Jr. Her memory will continue to shine in the hearts of her devoted siblings: Clifford Mae, Diana (Lucy). Laneeda, Louis (Red), William, and Kenneth
Sallie was a proud and loving grandmother to Shanira, Kawonna (Brian). Jabaris Sr. Joe Jr. KaShal and I'mari, and a doting great-grandmother to Ava, Za Dayiah, Za Darius, Jabaris Jr, Angeloh, Malachi, Ximorah, Xzavion, Jase, Xaylah, Kash, Ari Yuana, Serenity, Sevynn, Galexxi, Jayliah, and Amir.
She also leaves behind two dear sisters-in-law, Luella and Ethel Mae, two special cousins, Patricia and Sammie, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and countless friends who were blessed to know her.
Sallie's life was a testament to love, faith, and resilience. She will forever be remembered for her warm heart, her unwavering devotion to family, and the wisdom she imparted to those around her. Though she is no longer with us in body, her spirit will live on in the hearts of those she touched.
