Obituary for Shirley Diane Campbell
Sister Shirley Diane Phillips Campbell passed away in comfort at Langdale Hospice House on February 19, 2017 in Valdosta, Georgia at the age of 63.
Sister Shirley was born on December 29, 1953 in Bainbridge, Georgia to Mr. Wilmer Phillips and the late Mrs. Lether Mae Phillips. She graduated Mt. Moriah High School in 1971. She then attended Thomas University, where she studied Accounting, and later attended Bainbridge College. Over the years, she worked for Amoco, Dickies, and the Decatur-Seminole Training Center. She married Mr. Mack Campbell, Jr. in 1981 and had two daughters; Marquita and Jocelyn Campbell.
Sister Shirley moved to Valdosta to be near and help raise her granddaughter Mackenzie Conyers.
Sister Shirley is survived by her father: Mr. Wilmer Phillips of Attapulgus, GA; her children Marquita and Jocelyn Campbell and her granddaughter Mackenzie Conyers of Valdosta, GA; her siblings: Mrs. Winnie Saunders of Albany, GA and Mr. Artis Phillips of Attapulgus, GA; She also leaves behind two step-daughters: Stacey Campbell-Emmanuel and Sonya Campbell; step-son: Jamichael Campbell, and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Mr. Mack Campbell, Jr., her mother Mrs. Lether Mae Phillips, and her brother Mr. Hilton Phillips, Sr.
She battled her illness for a short period of time and will be remembered as being strong, loving woman and will be missed by many.
