Obituary for Tammy D. McKinnie
A celebration of life for
Tammy Denise McKinnie
With great sadness, the family of Tammy Denise McKinnie announces her sudden passing at the age of 51 on September 7, 2021.
A cherished daughter, granddaughter, mother, sister, cousin, and friend, Tammy was born on August 6, 1970, in Miami, Florida to parents Melvin and Starr Williams.
She grew up in Lakes of Arcadia within Carol City, where she attended Lake Stevens Elementary and Middle School.
After graduating from American High School in Miami Lakes, she entered the United States Air Force and served honorably until separation.
Afterwards, she worked at various jobs, until later being accepted to her dream job at Taurus. In the office, Tammy was a passionate, well-respected, and diligent worker.
However, she was also a friendly face to everyone she crossed paths with, never shying away at an opportunity to lift and support those around her with her smile, laugh, lively personality, and warmth. It is evident in the accolades achieved throughout her career and in the relationships that she has built over time that she lived her life to the fullest, accomplishing the goals she set out for herself and finding every opportunity to show others love and kindness.
Tammy was preceded in death by her brother, Melvin Brown Williams Jr.
She leaves behind her son: Quaverick; fiance: Charles Thomas; parents: Melvin and Starr; brother: Damiean; sisters: Asia and Aela; nephew, Rashaad; grandchildren: Chasity, Ja'siah, and Skyla; and uncles, aunts, cousins, and many good friends.
Her presence in our lives will be missed sorely, but together, we will strive to celebrate her beautiful spirit and honor her beloved memory.
