Obituary for Willie "Curt" Harper
Willie "Curt" Harper was born on October 5, 1952 in Bainbridge, GA to the late Joseph L Harper and Gloria P Harper "Bernice Harper". He was preceded in death by his parents, and two brothers, Joseph and James Harper. Willier received his education at the Decatur County Training Center, where he also learned various trades. Willie labored as a dedicated worker at the Center, until he could no longer perform his duties. Willie, was an artist by trade, he was known for his glass painting, which is on exhibits throughout Decatur County. Willie enjoyed painting and it showed in his creativity. Willie was really into his painter until he became totally disabled. Willie was a Christian in every way with his constant concern for others, and his positive dialogue. He met no strangers; everyone that knew him became his friend. Curt" was smart and intelligent, there was not a conversation that he was not able to join in on, he had a real niche for, learning things. Curt once said as he was feeling a little depressed, I wish that I could help somebody, but he was quickly reminded of all his roommates that he has helped and a particular roommate that he helped save his life. The roommate was in dire need of assistance, Curt was doing all he could ,to get the nurses attention, by trying to reach his buzzer to hollowing into the hall way; but to no prevail after minutes of not being able to get anyone's attention, Curt thought about calling Retha (sister) he used is mouth piece devise and called her. He explained to Retha what was going on with his roommate and had her to call the nurses' station to get help f or his roommate It was explained to Curt that everyone has a purpose and God can use you where ever you are. He then said, I didn't think about that "I have helped a lot of peoples" . Curt leaves to cherish his memory his loving son: Cameron Johnson: four brothers: Roy Harper Jr. (Ada) of Baltimore, MD; Larry Harper of Jacksonville, FL; Bobby Samuel (Renee) and Eddie Harper (Beverly) , both of Bainbridge, GA; seven sisters: Jacquelyn Sanders of Wilmington; DE, Beverly Harper of Atlanta, GA;, and Debra H. Hogan (George) of Noblesville, IN; and, Joan Coleman, Retha Green (Richard), Cynthia Green and Gwendolyn Gilbert (Charles) all of Bainbridge, GA; and two loving aunts: Verginlyne Miller and Ruth Parris and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. ��
