Obituary for Willie J. Iglus Jr.

Willie James Iglus Jr. was born on January 16, 1966 in Attapulgus, GA to the late Willie James Iglus Sr. and Elouise Perkins Iglus Mims.

He accepted Christ at an early age and since then he would never miss a Sunday going to church. He was a dedicated member of New Life Baptist Church in Miami, FL. He moved back to his hometown in 2022 and became a member Nelson Chapel A.M.E. and immediately found his spiritual center there with the pastor and members.

Willie graduated from Miami Norland Sr. High School in 1984. He began working at various businesses and was loyal and professional.

He Loved sports and his favorite teams were the Boston Celtics and the Oakland Raiders, Board games, Gospel music and spending time with family and friends because he always acknowledged a deep and abiding love for his family and friends. Through the years he made sacrifices to spend time with family and also to become closer in his walk with our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

On Friday July 14, 2023, at the age of 57, his mission here was complete and God called his son home to his eternal resting place.

He was preceded in death by his father: Willie James Iglus, Sr., mother: Elouise Iglus (Perkins) Mims, 3 brothers: Randolph, Peewee and Willie Iglus.

He leaves to cherish his memory His loving wife: Marnie Iglus; daughter: Megan Snyder; aunts: Joanne Perkins, Queen Perkins and Bessie Mae Hall also leaves to remember him fondly: siblings: Annie Ruth Jefferson, James Perkins, Ralph Iglus, Thelma Williams, Angelia Iglus, Lolita Iglus; a host of Nieces, Nephews, special cousins who were raised in the home with him; Beatrice Wilson, Martha Byrd, Jewel Byrd, Timothy Byrd and Terry Byrd.

We will miss his smile and kindness but as Christians we know, to be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord. Rest well in the arms of Jesus.
