Obituary for Richard C. Brown
Richard Charles Brown was born to Mabel Bowens-Brown and Harvey Brown, in Walhalla, South Carolina, on August 21, 1949. Richard met his wife, Alcania Kenon, in 1969. Richard and Alcania were united in holy matrimony on August 28, 1971.
Richard retired from the New York City Department of Corrections after twenty years of service. After retirement, Richard relocated his family to Bainbridge, Georgia, in 1992, where he became the owner and operator of Richard C. Brown Trucking. Richard continued to drive trucks, working with various trucking companies, until he was seventy (70) years of age.
Richard was a man dedicated to his family and friends. Providing for his family was his utmost priority. Richard accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior later on in life. Richard went to his final home on September 28, 2020.
Richard leaves behind a loving and dedicated wife of 49 years, Alcania Kenon-Brown.
To continue his legacy are his children: Michelle A. Brown-Green (Terry Sr.), Cania Rachael-Elise Brown-Gordon, Esq., and Richard C. Brown, II (Marine Veteran).
Richard leaves eleven (11) grandchildren who loved him beyond measure: Isis, Kimani, Terrika, Paul III, Terry Jr., Rachael, Rickee, Antonio, Caitlyn, Carson, Rhylan, and four (4) great grandchildren.
To cherish the times spent together are Uncle Clyde Bowens (Pat), Uncle Arduster House, Aunt Ruthie Bowens, brother-in-law Jerome Kenon (Ceola), brother-in-law Ralph Kenon (Lorand), sister-in-law Delores Lewis, a dedicated cousin, Roger Reece (Maxine), a close and special friend Alfred Leonard, and a host of family and friends.
