Obituary for Juanita Griffin
Life Profile
Sister Juanita Griffin was born in rural Decatur County, Bainbridge,Georgia, to the late Rev. Frank Griffin,Sr. and the late Mother Cleotha Flanders Griffin on Monday, March 12,1945. She was the sixth child of eleven. Her sisters: Virginia Roberts and Baby Annie Ruth Griffin. Brothers: Ernest Griffin, Frank Griffin, Jr. Willie B.Griffin, Adolphus Griffin, and James Griffin all preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by her son, Byron Koonce, Sr. and Grandson, James Guy.
At an early age Juanita confessed her faith in Christ and was baptized by the late Rev. T. E.Wilson at Pine Hill Missionary Baptist Church, Bainbridge, GA. Later in life after moving to Tampa, Florida she continued her Christian walk with the 29th St. Church of Christ and the Northside Baptist Church. Upon returning back to Georgia, she completed her spiritual journey under the Pastoral Leadership of Bishop Joe Burns at New Genesis Generation Ministries, Thomasville, Georgia, who nurtured and supported her during her illness. Juanita made her final transition during the early morning hours of Friday, August 26, 2022 at HCA Florida Capital Hospital, Tallahassee, Florida.
Juanita worked as seamstress in the textile industry, kindergarten aid, and for Seniors in Service for many years in Tampa, Florida. She was a caring, unique, and loving lady. Her memories will be forever cherished by her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, sisters,cousins, relatives, and friends.
