Obituary
Mrs. Ruby Lee Brown was born in Cairo, Georgia December 6, 1935 to Quincy and Fannie Skyler. She was the only child from the union of Quincy and Fannie. Ruby’s sibling were Rose, Eddie, Leroy and Walter.
Ruby married Johnnie Thornton in 1952 and from this union God blessed them with one son, Dennis Lewis Thornton. Both Johnnie and Dennis preceded Ruby in death. Ruby lived a very vibrant and colorful life, full of family, friends, the church and her beloved pets. She was a pilar of her community and a lifetime member of Campbell Street Church of God and Christ.
She leaves to mourn: one daughter-in-law, Sanitone Thornton, three granddaughters, Natevia (Jeff), Delanna (Martin) and Jacqua (Ricky), two great grandchildren, Quincy and Savannah a very special niece, Andrea Griffin-Stewart, a lifetime friend and sister Mrs. Maude Wright, her children Donna (James), Dianne (Wayne), Don (Dan) and their children, cousins Mrs. Louis Crawford and Mr. Carlton Crawford, Mr. David Crawford and a host of extended family members and friends.
