Obituary for Michael Douglas
Michael Douglas of Jacksonville, FL and previously of Attapulgas, GA went home to be with the Lord April 27, 2014. He was born May 6, 1954 to Richard and Wlliona (Andrews) Douglas. He was a 1972 graduate of Mt. Moriah High School where he was a member of the basketball team. Afterwards, he worked in construction for several years before enlisting in the U.S. Army in 1980. During his military service, Michael earned Achievement and Recommendation medals for outstanding service in the military. In his earlier years, Michael married Shirley Anderson in Attapulgas, GA. To this union two children were born. After retiring from the military in 1990, Michael moved to Jacksonville, FL and worked in the trucking industry. He eventually became disabled and began to enjoy spending his time fishing, watching sports, and spending time with family and friends. Michael was preceded in death by his mother Williona, his sister Carolyn Douglas, and his grandmother Ida Mae McCall. He leaves to cherish his memory his two children Michael Douglas, Jr. and Tosha Douglas, his grandchildren Michael and Antoinette Douglas, his father Richard Douglas, his brother Benard (Pat) Douglas, aunts, uncles and other family members and friends. Michael will truly be missed and will live in our hearts forever.
