A LegacyA Heritage...Character, Qualities Memoirs....Remembering the Life's Journey of Elder James L. Kelly A Time to be born.... Elder James Lee Kelly was born to late David Kelly and Lillie Kelly on February 23, 1952 in Colquitt, Georgia. A Time to love.... Elder Kelly met and married Luevon A. Kelly on June 17, 1973 from this union two children were born, Katherine and Kovetta. They celebrated 40 years of love together. A Time to grow.... Elder Kelly received his formal education in Decatur County Public School System and expanded his education by attending Albany Technical College where he received his credentials top become a licensed contractor for 40 plus years. He was a jack of all trades. He even worked in the Dougherty County Schools for a time. A Time to serve.... Elder Kelly was ordained as an elder in Albany, Georgia at Emmanuel S.D.A. Church in the 70's and served there until be joined Ephesus S.D.A. Church where he was a faithful member until his health began to fail. He loved the Lord, his family, friends, a hard worker and excellent provider. A Time to depart.... Elder Kelly departed this life peacefully at his home on May 19, 2014 after a prolonged illness. A Time to celebrate.... Precious memories will be forever cherished by his loving and devoted wife of forty years, Luevon A. Kelly; children Katherine (Peter) Gilbert of Albany, Georgia and Kovetta Freeman of Dothan, Alabama. Three grandchildren: Ray P. Freeman, Jetta I. Freeman and Faith Childree all of Dothan, Alabama. A sister-in-law Dr. Doris (Chauncey) Walker of Sanford, Florida and a brother-in-law Charles Cannon of Miami, Florida. Siblings Bertha Lee Bailey, Henry Kelly, Calista Kimble, Annie Kate Kelly all of Colquitt, Georgia; Lillie Grace (Gene) Kimble of Donalsonville, Georgia; Ruby (Shelman) Alexander of Orlando, Florida; Eunice (Johnell) Thomas of Atlanta, Georgia; Wayne Willford of Attapulgus, Georgia; Archie Lee (Mamie) Kelly of Kissimmee, Florida; one aunt, Ella fair Thompson of Orlando, Florida and a host of sorrowing nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends. Favorite saying: "It's a mess"
